The Process

How Apex Revive works.

From a retired PC to a working local AI agent — four simple steps.

01 — Download

Get the USB image

Download our installer image from this site. It is a ready-to-boot Linux environment with the Apex Revive setup wizard.

02 — Boot & Link

Boot your old computer

Flash the image to a USB stick, plug it into your retired PC, and power on. The wizard formats the drive, installs Linux, and opens a secure link to our office Magenta AI helper agent helpdesk.

03 — Install

We take control remotely

Our Magenta AI helper agent helpdesk inspects your CPU, RAM, GPU, and storage. It then downloads the exact packages and agent version your hardware needs, installs them, and configures the local AI agent.

04 — Activate

Add your provider key

Enter the API key from your chosen LLM provider — OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or a local endpoint. The agent comes alive on your machine. Your data never leaves.

What happens under the hood?

  • Linux install. The USB image repartitions the drive and installs a lightweight, hardened Linux tuned for local AI agents.
  • Hardware probe. The helpdesk reads CPU flags, memory size, GPU presence, and storage health before picking a package set.
  • Package push. The right Python environment, model runners, and AI agent are pushed to your machine.
  • Configuration. Ports, firewall rules, and agent profiles are set automatically.
  • Disconnect. Once the agent is alive, the remote link closes. You control the machine locally.
